The Society for Women of Ideas (SWI) is an interdisciplinary,

scholarly forum that seeks to promote the work of historical

and contemporary women thinkers.

Rosa Luxemburg

Our objectives are:

1. To provide a public space for the presentation and discussion of ideas generated by women philosophers, political theorists, writers, artists, and other researchers and practitioners engaged in the creative and provocative work of thinking.

2. To further research on the work of both prominent women thinkers and those still neglected in canonical literatures.

3. To ensure women’s contributions to intellectual history are recognized and valued.

4. To cultivate a community of scholars inspired by women of ideas.

We hope to achieve these objectives through such activities as lectures, panel discussions, interviews, workshops and conferences. SWI is open to all those interested in learning about and discussing the ideas of women thinkers.
